And you thought your family get-togethers were awkward. Trump’s niece Mary expressed her views in her book “Too Much and Never Enough: How my family created the world’s most dangerous man.”
But she wasn’t the only relative spilling tea about him. OTDI 2020, The Washington Post released audio recordings Mary made of Trump's sister, retired federal judge Maryanne Trump Barry. It was a remarkable series of insights from a woman who knows him best. Among other gems, she called him a liar with “no principles” and trashed his “phoniness” and “cruelty.”
She also expressed disgust about “what they’re doing with kids at the border” involving the administration’s family separation policy.
A few more nuggets:
“The lack of preparation. The lying. Holy sh-t!”
“He doesn’t read” which dovetails what so many others have reported about him, that he’s practically functionally illiterate.
“Donald is cruel…(and) you can’t trust him.”
She pointed out the nonsense of “that damn Ivanka” trying to play up her love of children on the same day “kids are being ripped from their families” by Donald’s child separation policy which is “mind-bogglingly” cruel.
“He’s as tight as a duck’s ass!”
“The only time that Donald went to church that I know of was…when the cameras were at the church.” Note: Plenty of wonderful people don’t go to church, but Trump has boosted his popularity among Evangelicals and others by seeming to pretend he loves the Bible.
This is just a taste; we encourage you to see/hear more in the links below.
But in our view, here’s the most interesting part: Trump’s 4th chief of staff Mark Meadows haplessly tried to defend his boss after his sister made those withering comments. He noted this was just “another day and another attack that we continue to see.”
Exactly! He’s admitting that these critiques are not unusual!
He’s pointing out that people who know Donald Trump best come forth all the time with blisteringly brutal evaluations of the man’s utter lack of intelligence, honesty, and humanity.
That’s Meadows’ best defense? Yes, I know, everybody thinks badly of him, and they try to warn the American public constantly? Yikes. We don’t think Mark Meadows is a guy we’d want on our team. But, then again, Trump often had difficulty finding quality people who were willing to work with him.
Trump’s own sister couldn’t trust him. All the more remarkable that 74 million voters in 2020 thought they could.
